Our NYC studio has built some of the first official Google Android Wear watch faces, and they're now available for download from Google Play. We've also built the Wearhub, giving some background to the project, and where you can find resources to get involved and create for this new platform. Check out the coverage in Wired too.
The watch faces aim to set the standard for watch face design on Android Wear, with a range of styles and functions to suit everyone’s tastes, and some user-configurable versions. Two apps are available in the Google Play Store: each containing a collection of faces which perform different functions. The first app, “ustwo Watch Faces”, contains watch faces which just tell the time. The second, “ustwo Smart Watch Faces”, include the ability to see the forecast or your daily schedule in the context of time.
The new faces follow an earlier collaboration where ustwo provided some of the first wave of official Android Wear faces which came pre-installed on LG, Samsung and Motorola devices launched earlier this year.

For this latest project with Google, our challenge was to make Android Wear watches stand out. It's been a great showcase of our wearables expertise, and the talents of our fast-growing NYC team. We also wanted to help the design and development communities with a great place to learn. So we’ve channeled our experience into an ambitious development framework that gives developers massive control and efficiency and we’ve helped influence the official design guidelines, with tons of helpful tips for designing beautiful things for Android Wear devices.
