Responsibility

We believe profit and values
can work together

As a Certified B Corp, we design and build digital products with people, communities, and the environment in mind, guided by our sustainability and net-zero commitments.

We are a Certified B Corp

Our B Impact Assessment score is 110.4, more than double the median business score of 50.9. Our B Corp certification gives us a framework for putting our values into practice across the business.

The B Corp journey

Becoming a B Corp helped us articulate values we already shared, and gave our people a clearer way to recognise and talk about what matters to us as a business.

In 2020, our founders, Sinx and Mills, recorded a podcast sharing how we passed the certification process and what we learnt along the way. They also spoke to Creative Review about what it means for us and why more companies should consider it.

B Corp certification gives us a North Star for the type of business we want to be, one that gives more than takes from the world.

we build responsibility into the products we make

We design inclusive products that help people make informed decisions, and use AI where it adds value, weighing its risks and impacts.

Designing for inclusion

We consider different needs and abilities, using our accessibility principles, research and testing to make experiences easier to use.

LEGO Foundation

We created a Braille learning hub that helps educators find resources suited to each child, designed to WCAG 2.1 AA and approved by the RNIB.

Wayfindr

We co-founded Wayfindr, an open standard for audio-based navigation for vision-impaired people, with the Royal London Society for Blind People.

Enabling informed decisions

We make complex information easier to understand and act on, from the language we use to how we present data.

National Grid

We moved payment messaging from urgency to understanding and made people's energy use clearer. National Grid reported a 35%+ rise in engagement.

GreenPortfolio

We redesigned key parts of a financial platform so people can understand the climate impact of their personal finances through clear visuals.

Using AI responsibly

We help our teams consider risk, bias, accountability and environmental impact so we know when to pause, question or say no to AI.

PRISM

With the University of Bristol, we created PRISM, an open-source extension showing developers the estimated carbon impact of AI use in real time.

We sponsor ClimateAction.tech's 2026 Responsible AI Programme, where practitioners, researchers and designers explore AI's environmental impact.

We're cutting our emissions and working towards net zero by 2040

Our total emissions fell 52% between 2022 and 2025. We've set targets to cut studio energy use and business travel emissions, and we're reviewing goods and services suppliers to strengthen our carbon reduction plans.

Carbon footprint

By 2030, we aim to reduce our absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 90% from a 2022 baseline. Our strategy follows the Science Based Targets initiative and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, and we measure, report and verify our emissions annually.

Our London and Malmö studios run entirely on renewable electricity. In 2025, our total emissions fell 30%, to 375.16 , compared with the previous year.

Climate projects

Since 2021, we have supported tree planting and certified carbon reduction projects through Ecologi.

Being a responsible business means supporting the communities around us

We give our time, skills and spaces to the people and organisations we work alongside, from running free Design Surgery sessions for charities to building open-source tools anyone can use.
